CEO/Founder

Imran Faruqi MD

With over a decade of experience on the frontline of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Faruqi recognized that options for treating life threatening Bradycardia were limited to painful or invasive options. He set out to design a catheter using a completely new approach to administering therapeutic electrical stimulation to the heart. This lead to the initial design and development of the first ever esophageal pacing catheter for ventricular pacing, EVeRCATH.

He completed his Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He went on to complete his Medical Degree at the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Brisbane, Australia. He then completed his training in Emergency Medicine at The Louisiana State University – Baton Rouge Emergency Medicine Residency Program, where he also served as Chief Resident. He went on to become a Partner Physician at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California before later returning to LSU as Faculty. He currently practices as a Staff Physician with the Baylor St. Luke's Hospital system in Houston, Texas.

 

His areas of expertise include advanced airway management, critical care, trauma, and device development. He has completed research in a novel sepsis detection technology, virtual reality simulation in medicine, as well as a multitude of clinical investigations.

Terrell Caffery MD

Dr. Caffery’s experience in emergency medicine includes clinical and leadership roles in community, county, and university settings. He currently serves as the head of an academic department in a large tertiary referral center. He also heads Height Medical LLC, a medical device distribution company with a network of devices ranging from spinal implants to advanced airway adjuncts.

Dr. Caffery is a distinguished researcher with extensive contributions to the field of emergency medicine.  He has authored numerous refereed journal articles, published abstracts, and case reports that significantly advance clinical practice and patient safety. Dr. Caffery has made significant strides in enhancing emergency medicine practice, focusing on topics such as ultrasound-guided procedures, emergency care diagnostics, and patient safety initiatives in medical education.  His work not only contributes to academic knowledge but also directly impacts patient care and medical education, positioning him as a leader in his field.

Salman Syed – CEO Astrada

Salman Syed currently head of fintech startup, Astrada, he has a proven track record of corporate leadership and growth. He’s previously served as EVP at Marqeta (NASDAQ:MQ) helping take them to IPO in 2022. He brings with him a wealth of experience in establishing and growing tech startups, positioning them for success. 

Habib Jabagi MD - Cardiovascular Surgery

Dr. Jabagi is a seasoned Cardiovascular Surgeon specializing in Aortic and Aortic valve surgery, currently practicing at Valley Health System in Paramus, New Jersey. He completed his training at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Open and Endovascular Aortic Surgery at the University of Michigan's Frankel Cardiovascular Center. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC. He is well published, having co-authored several book chapters on cardiac surgery, in addition to authoring numerous research and academic publications. Having completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering prior to Medical School, Dr. Jabagi is an active participant in the medical device realm, combining his engineering education and skill as a surgeon to improve patient outcomes.

CJ Bordelon MD - Cardiology

Dr. Bordelon is a Board Certified Cardiologist practicing in Baton Rouge, La. He has completed his medical training at LSU. He has extensive experience in clinical cardiology with a focus in Advanced Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography.

Cam Mosley MD - Emergency Medicine

Dr. Mosley brings with him 15 years experience in Emergency Medicine, with the majority of that time practicing within a large academic tertiary hospital. He currently serves as the head of the Emergency Medicine Residency at University of Arkansas Medical School

Chris Norris RN - Critical Care Nursing

Chris has over 10 years experience in critical care nursing, cardiac critical care, and bedside resuscitation. He is currently completing his Nurse Practitioner degree in Critical Care Nursing at Georgetown University. He has served in the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, and the Emergency Department. He brings with him extensive experience and a critical bedside perspective.
