Imran Faruqi MD

Dr. Faruqi has over a decade of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine; practicing in many different care settings from a Level 1 Trauma Center to a remote military outpost in combat zone. He recognizes the value of having the right tool for the job and feels passionately about being able to provide patients a better approach to cardiac resuscitation.

He completed his Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He went on to complete his Medical Degree at the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Brisbane, Australia. He then completed his training in Emergency Medicine at The Louisiana State University – Baton Rouge Emergency Medicine Residency Program, where he also served as Chief Resident. He went on to become a Partner Physician at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California before returning to LSU as Faculty. He currently practices as a Staff Physician with the Baylor St. Luke's Hospital system in Houston, Texas.


His areas of expertise include advanced airway management, critical care, trauma, and device development. He has completed research in a novel sepsis detection technology, virtual reality simulation in medicine, as well as a multitude of clinical investigations. 

Dr. Faruqi developed and designed the first iteration of our device and has worked since to help bring our work to market.

Senior Advisor

Bandula Wijay PhD, DSc

Dr. Bandula Wijay is a prominent inventor of Cardiovascular Devices and a serial entrepreneur since 1986. He has over 35 years of experience in developing and marketing medical devices worldwide. He currently holds over 28 US and International patents including Coronary Angioplasty and Vascular Stents. He is the founder of four medical device companies: Poly Tech, LeoCor, Binlab and LeoMed.

In 1984, he started his entrepreneurial career, Dr. Wijay along with Dr. Paolo Angelini of the Texas Heart Institute, developed the angioplasty balloon catheter system along with the coronary artery perfusion pump system to be used during angioplasty. In 1995, Dr. Wijay invented the "Nested Loop" vascular stent, used in treating stenotic arteries after balloon angioplasty.

Dr. Wijay has received numerous accolades for this work over the years in medical device innovation. He is passionate about advancing healthcare through new technology and has the experience in bringing these ideas through development and regulation to the patient's bedside.

Terrell Caffery MD

Dr. Caffery’s experience in emergency medicine includes clinical and leadership roles in community, county, and university settings. He currently serves as the head of an academic department in a large tertiary referral center. He also heads Height Medical LLC, a medical device distribution company with a network of devices ranging from spinal implants to advanced airway adjuncts. Dr. Caffery is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Salman Syed – CEO Astrada

Salman Syed currently head of fintech startup, Astrada, he has a proven track record of corporate leadership and growth. He’s previously served as EVP at Marqeta (NASDAQ:MQ) helping take them to IPO in 2022. He brings with him a wealth of experience in establishing and growing tech startups, positioning them for success. 

Habib Jabagi MD - Cardiovascular Surgery

Dr. Jabagi is a seasoned Cardiovascular Surgeon specializing in Aortic and Aortic valve surgery, currently practicing at Valley Health System in Paramus, New Jersey. He completed his training at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Open and Endovascular Aortic Surgery at the University of Michigan's Frankel Cardiovascular Center. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC. He is well published, having co-authored several book chapters on cardiac surgery, in addition to authoring numerous research and academic publications. Having completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering prior to Medical School, Dr. Jabagi is an active participant in the medical device realm, combining his engineering education and skill as a surgeon to improve patient outcomes.

CJ Bordelon MD - Cardiology

Dr. Bordelon is a Board Certified Cardiologist practicing in Baton Rouge, La. He has completed his medical training at LSU. He has extensive experience in clinical cardiology with a focus in Advanced Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography.

Cam Mosley MD - Emergency Medicine

Dr. Mosley brings with him 15 years experience in Emergency Medicine, with the majority of that time practicing within a large academic tertiary hospital. He currently serves as the head of the Emergency Medicine Residency at University of Arkansas Medical School

Chris Norris RN - Critical Care Nursing

Chris has over 10 years experience in critical care nursing, cardiac critical care, and bedside resuscitation. He is currently completing his Nurse Practitioner degree in Critical Care Nursing at Georgetown University. He has served in the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, and the Emergency Department. He brings with him extensive experience and a critical bedside perspective.
